Richard Byron has been drawing as early as he could hold a pencil.
Mostly self-taught as well as classes at the Davis Art Center, Richard was inspired by newspaper comics such as “Calvin & Hobbes”, “The Far Side”, “Bloom County” and “Doonesbury” as well as fantasy/scifi authors such as J.R.R. Tolkien, Douglas Adams and Brian Jacques. In high school he developed for the school newspaper a first-of-its-kind full-page comic series that ran for years. He studied Graphic Design at University of California Davis as well as 3D animation and filmmaking. After college he managed a monthly comic series for the band “Ill Imperial” while working full-time in retail. Today he is a freelance illustrator designing logos and larger print projections, with the hope of branching into hand-drawn animation someday soon.
Richard currently works from home just outside Sacramento in Northern California.
